Archiving & Indexing

In simple terms:
  • All published articles will remain accessible over time
  • We are working to include the journal in major indexes
  • Metadata and DOIs will support discoverability

FUTUREd is committed to ensuring the long-term accessibility, preservation, and discoverability of all published content. We follow best practices in open access publishing to support reliable access to scholarly work.

Digital Preservation

All articles are stored and maintained on secure servers and are made available in stable, downloadable formats (such as PDF).

  • Content is hosted on institution-supported infrastructure
  • Regular backups are performed to prevent data loss
  • Articles remain accessible through the journal website

As the journal develops, FUTUREd plans to implement additional digital preservation systems such as:

  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
  • CLOCKSS or similar archiving services
  • Institutional repository partnerships

Persistent Identifiers

FUTUREd is in the process of registering with the Japan Link Center (JaLC) to assign Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to all published articles.

  • Each article will receive a unique DOI
  • DOIs ensure stable, permanent links to content
  • Metadata will be deposited to support citation and indexing

JaLC is the official DOI registration agency in Japan. International registration via CrossRef may also be pursued as the journal develops.

Indexing

FUTUREd is actively working toward inclusion in major academic indexing services to increase visibility and impact.

Planned and target indexing services include:

  • National Diet Library (NDL) — via ISSN registration (pending)
  • Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)
  • Google Scholar
  • JaLC metadata services
  • Institutional and subject-specific repositories

As the journal grows, additional indexing opportunities will be pursued to improve discoverability and citation tracking.

Metadata Standards

FUTUREd follows standard academic metadata practices to ensure interoperability with indexing systems.

  • Use of structured article metadata (title, authors, abstract, keywords)
  • DOI registration and metadata deposit via JaLC
  • Compatibility with indexing and archiving systems

Open Access and Accessibility

All content is published under an open access model and is freely available without restriction. This ensures that research can be accessed, shared, and cited globally.

Our Commitment

FUTUREd is committed to maintaining reliable access to published research and continuously improving its archiving and indexing practices in line with international standards.
